About me

Get to know me:

Allow me to introduce myself –

I was born in 1999 in Málaga, and since 2017, I have been living in Scotland, a country I moved to at just eighteen years old to study film and psychology.

From a young age, I have been fascinated by the power of words, and over time, I have developed my skills in various forms of writing, from screenplays to film and theater reviews, and even children’s literature.

In 2023, I was named one of Scotland’s Young Makars, which has further fueled my love for poetry.

Since then, I have published My Men and My Women, two poetry zines that have been distributed internationally. I am also the editor of the anthology For Those Who Tend the Soil in collaboration with the Scottish Poetry Library.

When I write poetry, I feel an intimate connection with those who, like me, have experienced the feeling of not belonging, of being out of place in a world that sometimes seems foreign.

My poetry emerges as a response to the longing and nostalgia I feel towards my home, my family, and my culture after seven years of living abroad. Through my poems, I explore a bittersweet feeling of yearning and, at the same time, resentment towards the land where I grew up—the rural Spain that does not provide opportunities for younger generations, which led me to emigrate to the United Kingdom as soon as I turned eighteen.

Poetry is the most powerful medium to express specific emotions, reflections, and scenes.

It is crucial that my poetry always remains honest, simple, and meaningful.

There is a profound connection when you read someone else’s poetry and find that their words perfectly encapsulate your own emotions.

I like to think of my poems as a family album, where each poem represents a moment, a family member, a landscape. There is an intrinsic tenderness in each verse and a palpable longing for a land that cannot offer what you believe you need.

I am very happy to know that my work has found a home in numerous anthologies and literary magazines, such as Acumen, Poetry Scotland, and various Spanish publications. It brings me joy that my words can travel and be appreciated in different corners of the world. I love actively participating in poetry festivals and spoken word events throughout the UK and have been fortunate to share my poems on BBC Radio Scotland and at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
